The former Marlboro cigarette product advertising in the 1970s at the age of 72 years died Jan. 10 due to respiratory illness .

Eric Lawson , the man's name , died at his home in San Luis Obispo , Negaa of California , the United States as reported by the Daily Mail newspaper on Monday ( 27/1 ) .
Lawson previously had roles in the television series The Streets of San Francisco . She then appeared in Marlboro print ads 1978 to 1981 . He has also appeared in the series Dynasty , Baywatch , and Charlie 's Angels .
Lawson is known already addicted to cigarettes since the age of 14 years . But then he appeared in anti-smoking ad with the figure parodying the Marlboro man . He also briefly appeared on the talk show Entertainment Tonight in the evening to discuss the dangers of smoking .
Lawson 's wife , Susan , said her husband was proud to be interviewed about the dangers of smoking was even when he was still a hobby of smoking and eventually was diagnosed with respiratory disease .
" He knew the dangers of smoking but he could not stop , " said Susan .
A number of actors and models Marlboro ads died of respiratory disease caused by smoking . They include David Millar , died in 1987 , and David McLean , died of lung cancer in 1995 .
