This study is the result of collaboration between BT with Alcatel-Lucent . In that study , the researchers managed to transmit a signal from the BT Tower in London to a research facility in Suffolk Adastral Park at speeds up to 1.4 Terabits per second .
The researchers also reached the fantastic speed using fiber optic cable infrastructure used . 1.4 Terabits per second speed itself is achieved by using a system called Flexigrid and managed to increase the data transmission of up to 42.5 percent .
